Dishwasher problems we fix
Most dishwasher faults come down to a handful of parts: the drain pump, the filter, the inlet valve, the door latch or the control board. Gideon has repaired dishwashers of every major brand for over 15 years and knows which part to test first for each symptom.
Tell us the brand and what the dishwasher is doing, and we give you an estimate by phone. The technician confirms the price after the diagnosis, before starting the repair.
-
Not draining (water left at the bottom)
A clogged filter or drain hose, a failed drain pump, or a blocked air gap or garbage-disposal connection.
-
Dishes come out dirty or cloudy
Blocked spray arms, a worn wash pump or motor, a failed heating element, or water that is not hot enough.
-
Won't start or does not respond
The door latch switch, the control panel or board, a thermal fuse, or a tripped breaker.
-
Leaking from the door or underneath
A worn door gasket, a cracked spray arm, a loose hose clamp or a failed pump seal.
-
Not filling with water
The water inlet valve, the float switch or the supply line.
-
Dishes not drying
The heating element, the vent fan or the rinse-aid dispenser.
-
Error code or blinking lights
Most brands show a code for the failed part. We decode it and test the component before replacing anything.
-
Loud grinding or humming
Debris in the pump, or a wash motor that is failing.
How a repair visit works
No surprises: you know the cost before we start.

-
2. Diagnosis at your home
The technician tests the dishwasher, explains what failed and confirms the repair price before any work begins.
-
3. The repair
Many repairs finish on the first visit. If a part has to be ordered, we tell you the lead time and schedule the return visit.

Questions about dishwasher repair
Can I run my dishwasher with water left in the bottom?
Better not. Standing water points to a drain problem, and running more cycles can flood the floor. Scoop the water out, leave the door open and book a visit.
Is a repair cheaper than a new dishwasher?
For a pump, valve, latch or element on a dishwasher under about ten years old, usually yes. A failed control board on an old entry-level model can cost more than it is worth, and we say so.
Which brands do you repair?
Whirlpool, GE, Samsung, LG, Kenmore, Maytag, Frigidaire, KitchenAid, Bosch and most others.
